Biography

Soprano Anna Farysej is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music in New York under the supervision of prof. Mignon Dunn. She has completed her doctoral studies and holds a DMA diploma from the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where she studied under Prof. Eugenia Rozlach.
Upcoming performances include a concert with The Venice Chorale in Venice, Florida, titled Black & Blue: A Journey Along the Danube (tickets available here). Next, she returns to the role of Frasquita in Bizet's Carmen at Opera na Zamku in Szczecin, Poland, and reprises the role of Zofia in Moniuszko's Halka. Following this, she will make her role debut as Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto at the Savannah Voice Festival this August.

In the 2024/2025 season, she made her role debut as Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor with Opera Williamsburg in Virginia in September 2024 and will sing Juliette in Roméo et Juliette at Silesian Opera in Poland in February 2025. in September 2024, she made her role debut as Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor with Opera Williamsburg in Virginia. 
In March of 2025, she performed two song cycles (
Love and Gypsy) by Antonin Dvořak at the William & Mary Music Art Center (link) together with renowned pianist and conductor Abdiel Vazquez.

Season of 2023-2024 started by participating in a workshop at Gulfshore Opera in Florida and later debut as Zofia in Halka at the Royal Opera in Warsaw, Poland.
Previous engagements include singing G. Donizetti's Il giovedi grasso and Il campanello di notte at the Warsaw Chamber Opera and a return to the part of Juliette in Roméo et Juliette by Ch. Gounod directed by Michał Znaniecki and to the roles of Fräulein Bürstner and Leni in The Process by P. Glass at the Castle Opera in Szczecin under the baton of Jerzy Wołosiuk. She also sang the role of Hanna in S. Moniuszko's The Haunted Manor under the musical direction of Janusz Przybylski, she sang Despina in W. A. ​​Mozart's Cosi fan tutte at the Opera na Zamku

In the 2017/2018 season, she was involved in the Opera Theater of Saint Louis in the USA, where she sang the roles of Alexandra Giddens in the opera Regina by M. Blitzstein and Sonia Gonzalez in the world premiere of the opera An American Solider by H. Ruo. In November 2017, she played the role of Frasquita in Carmen by G. Bizet in Opera na Zamku in Szczecin, which resulted in further cooperation and an additional role of Despina in Così fan tutte by W. A. ​​Mozart in the 2018/2019 season.
In September 2017, she took second place and received a special award for special stage predispositions at the International Competition Golden Voices in Warsaw. In May of the same year, she made her debut with the Chopin Chamber Orchestra performing the song cycle Les Illuminations by B. Britten. In January 2017, she sang the role of Tatiana (Eugeniusz Onegin by P. I. Czajkowski) in the Młynarski Hall at the Grand Theater of the National Opera in Warsaw.
In December 2015, she won the Bel Canto Vocal Competition in the United States. In May 2015, she sang the role of Antonia in J. Offenbach's Tales of Hoffmann at the Washington Irving Auditorium in New York. In November 2014, Anna played the title role of Piotr Tchaikovsky's opera Jolanta, the performance was held in New York under the patronage of Vocal Productions NYC.
In autumn 2013, she performed in selected opera houses, singing the role of Helena in Ch. W. Gluck, and in December Małgosia in Hansel and Gretel by E. Humperdinck at the Manhattan School of Music. In the summer of the same year, she made her debut as Poppaea in C. Monteverdi's The Coronation of the Poppaea of Dell'Arte Opera Ensemble and played the role of Donna Elvira in scenes from Mozart's Don Giovanni at the National Opera Center in New York.
In 2012, she sang the role of the young lady in K. Weill's Bloom and Fall of the City of Mahagonny (also a cover of Jenny) and performed Rachmaninoff's Russian songs at Carnegie Hall (Music Festival-Winner).
She improves her vocal skills by participating in master vocal and interpretation courses led by outstanding vocal authorities such as: Edith Wiens, Diana Soviero, Catherine Malfitano, Teresa Żylis-Gara, Helena Łazarska, Eva Blahová, Anita Garanca, Renato Bruson, Thomas Hampson, Valentin Peytchinov and others.

She sang the solo soprano part in W. A. ​​Mozart's Requiem several times in the past years.

Apart from opera roles, her repertoire includes oratorio music: Stabat Mater by G. B. Pergolesi, Stabat Mater by G. Rossini, Gloria by F. Poulenc, Carmina Burana by C. Orff; and a wide range of lyrical songs.
